Heartfelt Gifts

The girls and I had a pretty good Mother's Day. We woke up and went to church in Dallas and got to see a lot of our friends. Angel and Michael and their family brought a picnic lunch for us to all enjoy together. It was really nice, even though it was a bit chilly out for some odd reason when the day before it was hot and humid!!! We left Dallas to come back to Houston at 3:15 and our trip started out badly. My girls were at each other's throats, well all of them except Kensington. They were being so bad, Bella was antagonizing Cali and Cali was so whiny about everything. Brae was arguing with them both and at one point I had to pull our car over on the shoulder and threaten a life. I won't disclose whose life it was. After that our ride went much more smoothly. We were on schedule to arrive in Houston at about 7:15 so we could start our Survivor Finale 'party' with the Hairs. At about 6pm traffic came to a dead halt on the highway and after a few minutes everyone on the highway was out of their cars to see what was happening. We all got out of our car too and we stayed out until 7:30pm. There was a bad accident and 3 life flights had come in and back out. It was a sad thing to happen on Mother's Day. We ended up home at 9pm and missed Survivor but thank goodness for modern technology and TiVo! :) The girls wanted me to post the gifts they so happily gave me when we got home that night. They all gave me presents. It was a good day overall and we were thankful to be standing on the highway for an hour and a half and not the ones in the accident.

I am so sorry that you had such a long trip home. I am glad you got to watch Survivor though! It was so emotional seeing you all at church that morning. I was so happy to see you and cannot wait to see you on another happy day! That one will be even more emotional!!!!! I love you very much and will see you soon. ;)

I love that your card from one of the girls says "my mom getting ready to go to the temple"! What a wonderful example you set for your girls! LOVE YOU!
