You Can't Go Back On Your Word!!! Survivor Style

I was pretty happy last night when Ozzy got voted off Survivor. He was my choice to win this entire thing because he is the best player in Survivor history, BUT, he started to get so arrogant and nasty like they normally do when they get comfortable. There is one player who I really love, Jason, and everyone promised him during a challenge that if he would forfeit and walk away that no one would vote for him that night. So, Jason trusted them and walked away and everyone decided to go back on their word and vote Jason off. I was livid!!! You can't make a promise and go back on it. No integrity at all, even if it is just a game. So, five of them got together and decided to blindside Ozzy and vote off the biggest threat and I was glad they did. I do think he deserved to win but that's the game. :)

My Crazy Time With Amber Dawn

My little friend/sister, Amber Dawn Duke, from Dallas is flying to Ecuador for three months to volunteer with orphans through a program at BYU Idaho. She had a seven hour layover at Houston IAH between flights so I went to pick her up. It was quite a fun little adventure. I had only been to the airport once before and that was pure luck I found my way there and around the first time. So, when I arrived I went to the wrong terminal and fortunately through cell phones found out she wasn't there so I had to backtrack a mile or so back and turn around. Then, I went to the terminal arrivals where she was and waited but she wasn't there. So, finally she spotted me but she was on the second floor where departures were so I had to once again back track and turn around and then finally found her. It was great. She loves to laugh so we crack each other up. We spent time at Shannon's and then a couple hours later we picked up my girl's from school and had to take Amber back to the airport. We were really short on time to have her back so we were pushing it. Well, outside of my neighborhood my gas light came on and it was a little scary. I really needed to get her to the airport before I stopped for gas and the airport is like 35 minutes away. So, I pondered what to do and I felt the Spirit. We continued to go to the airport and as we got closer I shared with her my feeling the Spirit and told her it meant one of two things: 1) Heavenly Father was telling me that I would be ok to get her to the airport and then get gas OR 2) I would break down on the side of the road and the Spirit would be with me. It was funny, and I was hoping it meant number 1. We did get her to the airport but not without missing the terminal the first time and having to backtrack one more time just as I had done twice earlier in the day. To say the least... I do not like the Houston airport. It is so confusing and horrible. I got very familiar with the turn-around. :) We were laughing so much though and we had a good little adventure together. I did make it to the gas station and got robbed blind for gas near the airport. But I was thankful I made it there. She emailed me this morning and safely arrived in Ecuador so I am thankful for that and for our time together. She is my eternal friend.

Emily Tagged Me, Are You Kidding?

Rules:
A. Post the Rules
B. Answer all the questions about yourself
C. After you are done posting, tag 5 people.

1) What I was doing ten years ago: I just had Braelyn. I had been out of high school for one year. Is this really something I should be sharing for everyone to read??? I did love this time though, taking care of her. I know I was meant to be a mom.

2) 5 Things on my 'To Do' list today: Try to wake up (stayed up way too late), clean the bathrooms, do home work with the girls, fold laundry (uugghhh) and work on the missionary luncheon I am in charge of next week.

3) Snacks I enjoy: Special K cereal with bananas and skim milk (any time of day), cinnamon graham crackers, chocolate, big thick brownies with no nuts, lots of things...

4) What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire: buy a home and a boat! I love to go toobing and water skiing. I would invest it so we could live off it. I would replenish our food storage and make sure that we are fully prepared for what lies ahead. I would make sure the girls' have plenty for college. I would travel. I have never been out of the United States so I would go see new places.

5) 3 Bad Habits: I pick my split ends (I have OCD too Emily), chew too much gum, am addicted to Sonic Cherry Limeades

6) 5 Places I've Lived: Sahuarita, Arizona, Jacksonville, Florida, Orlando, Florida, El Paso, Texas, Dallas, Texas, Houston, Texas

7) 5 Jobs I've Had: Waitress at Sunny's Restaurant (17 years old), Receptionist at Qualex Photofinishing Lab, Personal Assistant at Applecreek Preschool, Mom

8) 5 Things People Don't Know About Me: This is hard! I think most of my friends know me well. I am a pretty open person. I wear my heart on my sleeve so what you see is what you get. If I am happy you know it and if I am struggling you know it. I am a convert to the church and I love it with my whole heart. I don't like to be alone and lonely. I used to do gymnastics and cheerleading and still like to do some flips. I once met Brian Austin Green who played David on Beverly Hills 90210! It was amazing. :)

School Carnival of Mud!!!

The s' school had a carnival yesterday. We were so excited to go and to finally do something as a family here in Houston. Well, the day before we went it rained here all afternoon which made for a muddy playground area where the carnival was being held the next morning. No lie, within 5 minutes of being at the carnival all 5 of us had been sunk into mud at least one time. Bella got stuck first, of course, and when I was rinsing her feet off in a puddle of water I sunk into mud myself and my flip flop got stuck. The picture that I am displaying is Bella's second time of being stuck and if you look closely you can see both flip flops in the mud! Kensington got stuck too and Brae and Cali got muddy shoes. It was a nightmare that cost me an arm and leg so I wasn't too happy right off the bat but then I thought I could at least snap some pictures of it and put it on my blog to get some laughs and that made me feel a little better. We walked down the muddy row but there was no water supply available to us to clean up so we loaded up (all the muddy feet in the very back of the car) and we came home to clean up. When we went back we were better prepared to stay clear of the mud. It was a good time at that point. The s got their hair done (which after shampoo and conditioner still has bright green and blue streaks on their scalp), played games and did numerous bounce houses and obstacle courses. We had cotton candy and snow cones and had a good time overall.

Satan Has A Head!

Tonight we were reading together about Abinadi and somehow we got onto the topic of Satan. Kensington said that Satan is not on the earth and I told her that in fact he is on the earth. I said that he doesn't have a body so we can't see him. A few seconds went by and then Kensington said, "So, he only has a head!" I busted up. Isn't that sooo funny. The girls are having a hard time grasping the notion that Satan is only a spirit and he does not have a body. We'll keep working on that one...
